Here’s a quick roundup of the key happenings from our latest meeting and updates for the month:
Ratecard Update The 2023-2024 ratecard has remained unchanged due to reduced work, but with rising living costs, we’re updating the figures. We’re committed to ensuring the rates reflect the current climate. To do so, we need your input through the rate surveys, which will help us update the rate cards in March.
If you haven’t filled out the survey yet, please do so here: Rate Survey.
Podcast and Working Groups There’s more coming soon! We’re exploring the possibility of a podcast and new working groups to bring even more insights to our members. As always, we welcome new ideas!
Mental Health & Turnaround Times Campaign We’ve launched a survey to gather data on long hours and poor turnaround times, aiming to highlight the consequences and push for fairer conditions.
Take the survey here: Broken Turnaround.
Human Rights in Post-Production The TV Industry Human Rights Forum has released an important report on human rights risks in post-production. It highlights exploitative working practices and the need for better support for those working with sensitive content.
Check out the full report here: Human Rights in Post-Production.
Additionally, Fix It In Post is hosting a webinar to discuss the report on Wednesday, 5th February, from 1-2pm GMT. Sign up here: Webinar Registration.
Members' Skills Fortnight The 2025 Annual Members' Skills Fortnight has almost wrapped up with a series of fantastic training sessions. Topics covered included financial health, resilience, digital skills (including ChatGPT), and production management skills. It’s been a great way to keep growing professionally.
AI in the Industry There’s ongoing debate about AI’s role in the film and TV industry, and we’re keeping a close eye on it. The UK government has announced plans to harness AI’s potential, but we’re advocating for fairness, transparency, and protection of creative rights.
