BECTU have now created a consultative ballot on the TV Drama Agreement and provided more information about the situation.
The deadline to vote is: 26th August 2021 at midday
Your personal information will be kept confidential and only processed internally by Bectu staff. Only voting numbers will be shared. You will need your membership number to vote.
A quick update on why we are balloting you
The Pact/Bectu TV Drama Agreement was scheduled to be renegotiated in 2019, the review is now 2 years overdue.
In May 2021, Bectu wrote to Pact requesting urgent talks and the withdrawal of Pact’s unagreed guidance.
Due to Pact’s delayed response these talks have not yet commenced and Pact have not agreed to withdraw their guidance.
Your branch representatives believe the TV Drama Agreement should be updated and improved through meaningful negotiation and if Pact continue to interpret terms through issuing guidance the agreement loses value.
Therefore, if Pact will not engage with your representative in negotiations and no progress is made your representatives would like your permission to give Pact 6 months’ notice to terminate the agreement.
The 6 month notice period would only be triggered once your representatives believe meaningful negotiations are no longer possible.
Your negotiating reps are members, just like you, currently working in TV Drama.
