Post Production & Facilities Branch Survey
We would like to find out the impact of the strikes on you and your colleagues and will be releasing a survey soon.
BECTU Webinar with SAG-AFTRA Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland email to members:
“We know that so many of you are being impacted as a result of productions being put on pause or postponed due to the ongoing dispute between SAG-AFTRA and the AMPTP. We thought it would be useful for you to have an opportunity to hear directly from SAG-AFTRA about the issues at the centre of the dispute, why it’s a crucial fight for the whole industry, and the latest prospects for a resumption of negotiations.
We’ve therefore organised a members webinar with guest speaker SAG-AFTRA’s Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, alongside Head of Bectu Philippa Childs, Equity General Secretary Paul W. Fleming, and Bectu National Secretary Spencer Macdonald.
The webinar will take place on Monday 21 August at 7pm”
Members can sign up to the webinar and submit questions in advance at the link in the email.
BECTU Strikes Hub
BECTU has set up a SAG-AFTRA/WGA dispute info hub on the Bectu website outlining sources of support, what to do if your employment circumstances have changed, and more. Find out more guidance on what to do if your production has been suspended. You can also find the latest statements, guidance and social media images to show your support for the strike.
Suspended Productions
BECTU is aware that some productions are invoking ‘force majeure’ provisions, and using this to seek to justify suspending productions that are impacted by the US strike action. Find out more about this here.
Mental Health Resources
It’s a challenging time for all of us amidst these strikes, with work being cancelled, delayed or surrounded by uncertainty. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. We have collated resources to support mental health and well-being in the new mental health support section of our website.
Financial Support Resources
We have collated resources to support post production workers, including grants, benefits and financial advice in the new financial support section of our website.
